To Mourn Not. To Laugh at It All.

It’s sometimes said that we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.

If we’re spiritual beings having a human experience, then our grief for having lost all those we loved, those whom we think we’ve lost, is a waste of time and a denial of joy. To live as spiritual beings means not to mourn, not to wait on death as bats wait on night. For though our humanness and human lives may be lost, our beingness never is. Whether spiritual or human in nature, we are still beings. We still are. No one can deny this.

If we’re spiritual beings having a human experience, we need not take ourselves or our world too seriously. We don’t need to take too personally what seems to happen to us, or to take our experience too literally. For all seeming tragedy and onslaught, all assault and degradation, are rectified in an ultimate justice which washes away the dream of the world.
