When someone or some circumstance takes what is mine, I tend to bloat up with justified anger. Yet there’s no reason for anger, no call to injustice. Everything I own is but a borrowing, and a remainder bequeathed when I pass. All that I survey as mine in truth belongs to that which lives its life through me. When someone steals from me, the vast one who lives Its life through us all simply transfers a keepsake from one of its hands to the other.
Just as all who love give the same love, so every tree provides the same shade, no matter the shape of its leaves. Justice remains perfect as long as it is not stirred with indignation.
