We are, each of us, a unique, one-time expression, the whorls on the tip of a finger.  What a glorious, untried experiment a person is, each time one is born.  And there you are, trying to be like everybody else.

You are a mayfly.  You live just one day.  And that day shall never be repeated.

Most moments you squander in some form of sleep, a slumber designed to conceal from you the uniqueness of each moment of your life.  Instead, you misspend your moments bored or obsessing over a past that can’t be regained, maybe worrying about a future that will never quite arrive in the way you predict.

Each of us tries, at times, to sacrifice the pricelessness of each of our expressions by transforming our unique story into a sameness that’s easier to digest than the difficult meaning, the eternal particularity, that lives in every moment of every life.
