To speak of accurate perceptions points to an immediate problem. The fact that we feel the need to speak of things in terms of ‘accurate’ or ‘inaccurate’ leads to the conclusion that perhaps we cannot really know essential truths. In reality, these terms—accurate and inaccurate, right and wrong —are unnecessary.
The ultimate is not more right, more correct, and does not represent a more accurate reality than the level of existence in which we subsist now. There are no gradations like that within the sempiternal. Those kinds of terms are wholly superfluous in ultimate reality, and so is the term ultimate reality. So perhaps, in imitation of that “ultimate” quality of existence, we could abandon them here, also, at the level of our current awareness.
There is no need for accuracy when discussing the metaphysical or the spiritual. A physician may need to record her diagnosis with accuracy, but a metaphysician does not. In the realm of perception of which and in which we are now aware, all things are indeed relative. The religious often decry a secular world of moral relativism. The reductionists among us also insist on an objective law. Yet human awareness is founded upon perception, and perception is possible only when the observer makes distinctions between objects, conditions and circumstances. In fact, comparisons like good versus evil and truth versus lies become essential in a world of perception. Relativity is the only output of perceptions. Whenever I speak of the essential correctness of some fact or statement, I choose to exist in that perceptual world. When I perceive some thing, I can be nothing but relative to it, so I can be nothing but relative in describing it. There are no absolutes in such an existence, and so, there is no perfect standard that stands out against all other grades in the same class.
The illimitable by definition is equivalent with the absolute. And when we enter the absolute, we abandon terms like ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ Nothing compares to the absolute, and no comparisons within it are possible. It is the dimension of non-duality. It cannot be considered right, or as more right than something else is right. The infinite cannot even be considered a more accurate representation of reality than the world of perception. Since everything by definition must exist within the ultimate, it can have no gradations within itself, no regions or levels that are truer than any other. In eternality, any discussion of the absolute has no place. For this reason, right and wrong, good and evil, are impostors that can have no currency with us.
