If I can’t find what I’m looking for in myself, how will I ever find it in someone else?
If I can’t recognize what I’m missing here, how will I recognize it there?
If I’m not content with the things I have, what makes me think other things will content me more?
If I’m not happy now, I won’t be happy then.
Contentment is a choice more than it is something to be striven for.
It is always available, here and now and in present company.
To believe otherwise is never really to experience it anywhere, anytime or with anything or anyone.
Because it’s always now, not then.
I’m always here, never there.
I have what I have, not what I have not.
And I’m always with whom I’m with, not with someone else.
The good news is that everything I want already belongs to me, right now.
If I believe that, I have everything.
If I refuse to believe it, then no amount of there or then, this or that, him or her, will make the slightest difference in the long run.
